How to fix this not working idrive controller afer you upgraded your old radio to NBT or EVO system?

When you upgrade your NEW EVO system to your car, everything works, just your new idrive controller does not work,

do not hurry to blame seller that he send you not working idrive controller :)

its because early BMW F series 1er 2er 3er 5er had different canbus system than your current EVO system.

this is not a big problem, just need to rewire two wires Quadlock connector to your idrive controller 4 pin plug.

if you take your Idrive 4 pin connector you will notice that every pin has a number: 1 2 3 4...

normally, pin configuration is this:

no1 : POWER this wire powers up your idrive controller

no2 : Ground or otherway called "MINUS"

no3 : CAN high

no4 : CAN low

the 4 pin plug is like a contructor, you can left it with flat screw driver

after you lift it, you can press the metal lock and remove wire easy without cutting it.

keep no1 and no1 plugs in place and disconnect 3 and 4 plugs.

now from the lets go to the quadlock connector

you can also notice that every pin has number.

you need to find no 9 and no 11 pins

find 9 and 11 pins

take twisted canbus wire like this in the photo below

if you see existin connectors in these pin locations DO NOT CUT THEM OFF

just joint the wires one by one like this

lead twisted canbus wire to the idrive controller connector and connect to 4 pin connector like this

Close the 4 pin connector lock the pins in it and  everything ready for the controller
